While managing care at home for my grandfather, I witnessed my mother's journey: evenings spent on paperwork, battling bureaucracy and facing roadblocks while trying to talk to suppliers, doctors' offices, insurance companies.

A notebook sat beside her, containing her scrawled solutions to the complex and ever-changing system: which new catheters were covered? Which weren't and why?

My grandfather’s care became part of who she was– part of who we all were. Updating Rx’s, placing orders, adjusting and fighting  invoices, month, after month, after month.

Looking back now, I can see how much my mother and grandfather lost through this process. I didn’t know how to help my family then. 

My mission became to make health care easier for all families.
